This scarf is just a row of Granny Squares. I used Baby Alpaca Grande from Plymouth for the green centers and a squishy handspun single of mine for the blue.
I love the rythmn of crochet. I love the quick and flashy movement of the hook. I've probably gone more miles with a hook than knitting needles, and not just because crochet takes more yarn. I've crocheted a lot of baby and wedding afghans.
I have acres of fabric behind me...

I agree with you. I love crochet. The repetition is soothing to the soul.
Hmmm. I have yet to learn to crochet more than a couple of basic stitches, and have never made an entirely crocheted item. But something about the way you describe it (coupled with the adoreable arigumi patterns I was looking at this morning) is making me think that maybe it's time to pick up a crochet hook and go to it!

I also did a C is for Crochet post. I like yours! I have to admit to not being a big fan of granny-square afghans (holes too big, my feet get cold), I never thought of using them for a scarf. Clever you. It looks very soft and warm.
